Websites for artists

A website where your work takes centre stage

A calm, fast portfolio site for visual artists. Large images that load quickly, a clear structure per discipline and a direct route to get in touch about commissions, exhibitions or workshops.

What your site needs to do

What an artist's website has to get right

  • The work comes first

A design that steps back so your images do the talking. No busy backgrounds or needless effects.

  • Large images that load fast

Every image is optimised automatically. Your work stays sharp and the site stays fast, on a phone too.

  • A clear structure

Paintings, ceramics, sculpture, film or workshops: each discipline gets its own place, so galleries and clients quickly find what they are after.

  • One place to point people to

No more scattering of Instagram posts, but one professional home for your portfolio, your story and your contact details.

Work

Two artists, two sites

Both built around the work itself. Read what the question was, what I did and what they think of it.

    Ambiosati

A calm portfolio site for visual artist Merel Fentener van Vlissingen, where the work itself gets all the attention.

“Tsjerk is a professional, keeping in mind your desires and wishes for the website as well as the best design options or tactical point for the eyes. The website was done quickly and I am very happy with it! It is clean, clear and professional. The communication was very pleasant during the process, and any input was welcome. Great job!” Merel Fentener van Vlissingen

    By Flow & So Art

A site for artist Wietske Sietzema, covering mystic paintings, drawings, sculptures and workshops.

“Since I know very little about building a website myself, but did need one, I was really glad I could approach Tsjerk. Very friendly and open to ideas, gives good advice. He then discusses everything and builds the site, making adjustments wherever I'd like to see them. He's fast and skilled, and I can always count on him. I'm very satisfied.” Wietske Sietzema

Questions

Frequently asked questions about artist websites

Can I add new work myself?

Yes. With a simple editing system (€450) you add new work, photos and news yourself. Rather not? With a care plan you send the photos over and I put them online.

Can I sell work through my site?

You can. For a handful of pieces a tidy button per work, where someone can register interest, is often enough; that message comes straight to you. If you want to sell online for real, with payment and shipping, I build a web shop (from €2,500).

How long does it take?

A one-pager is online within five working days, a complete site in 3 to 4 weeks. Selecting and photographing your work often takes the most time; I am happy to help think that through.

What if I do not like the design?

Then we change it. You only pay once you approve the design. Still not happy after two design rounds? Then we stop and you owe nothing.
